Is The Snowplow Covered On My Truck? Written by Lyle Fulkerson on 12/6/2011 8:28 AM in NH Truck Insurance, Commercial Truck Insurance. It has 0 Comments. With the onset of the holidays and the troubling economy, New Hampshire businesses and homeowners are experiencing an increase in robberies. This is apparent by a recent article in the Manchester Union Leader that reports there have been two snowplows stolen from a Merrimack New Hampshire business in the last few weeks. To read the entire new store, click the following link Unionleader.com. Given this increase in theft cases, you will want to ensure that you have the proper insurance in place before a claim happens. If you have NH commercial auto policy (which you should if you plow anyone's property besides your own), coverage for detachable equipment is not automatically covered. This means that there would not be any coverage for items like a plow, cap, winch or lumber rack that you can remove from your truck. To get insurance on your snowplow, etc. you will need a Commercial Inland Marine Policy. Though this seems like something for a boat, it is actually a type of insurance policy that typically covers items that can be transported or moved. This type of insurance is pennies on the dollar, so well worth it for peace-of-mind alone. For more information on this type of insurance, speak with your insurance professional, or send us a message at April@HPMinsurance.com. We would be more than happy to answer your questions.
