Toys For Tots Supporter

In response to a recent new story on WMUR, The Holt Proctor McBriarty Insurance Agency of Milford NH is stepping-up to help support the Marine Toys For Tots Foundation - Londonderry chapter.

According to the WMUR story,"Toys for Tots officials said they are running at only about 10 percent of projected requests for donations with the greatest need for newborns and teenage boys and all age groups for girls."  To read the entire story, please click WMUR Toys for Tots.

Toys are supposed to be delivered to the warehouse by December 16th, but given the desperate need for toys, Toys For Tots is extending this deadline.  That said, Holt Proctor McBriarty Insurance representatives will be accepting NEW, UNWRAPPED  toys from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm until December 16th.  Holt Proctor McBriarty Insurance Agency representatives will be loading gifts Monday morning, December 19th, for delivery to the Toys For Tots warehouse in Manchester New Hampshire.

Here are some guidelines to think about when choosing a gift:

Q: What age groups are supported by Toys for Tots?

Most campaign sites are able to assist children up to age 12, but in many local communities, local support is such that the age limit may be extended to 14-16.

Q: Is there a list of toys available to guide me with my donation?

Toys for Tots does not publish a list of appropriate toys to donate.  If such a list were created, most would follow it, resulting in a limited selection of items to distribute in each community.  We would rather our donors consider what might be an appropriate gift for their own child/relative, purchase the item, and donate to Toys for Tots.

Q: Pre-teen/teens are groups for which shopping is especially difficult.  Do you have any ideas?

The Foundation does purchase supplemental toys/gifts for our campaign sites and focuses on these age groups.  In the past, items purchased for these groups have included, but are not limited to:  sporting equipment/bags/balls; books, backpacks, cosmetics, purses, watch/wallet gift sets, bath gift sets, board games, radio control cars/trucks, hand-held electronics, skateboards/helmets, curling irons, hair straighteners, and hair dryers.

Q: Are there toys/gifts that are not accepted/distributed?

Toys for Tots prefers not to accept realistic looking weapons and gifts with food.  If donated, such items will NOT be distributed.

According to the Londonderry NH chapter they are currently in need of toys for children 9 years and older for both boys and girls.

Holt Proctor McBriarty Insurance Agency is asking their employees, clients and community at-large to support this wonderful cause.

Agency employee Vicki Keskinen has also arranged for The Laura G. Heald Club. of The First Congregational Church, UCC, of Milford New Hampshire to contribute $100 towards the Toys For Tots toy drive through Holt Proctor McBriarty Insurance Agency.
